About me
Thodoros was born in Aegina Greece and that is where his early influences and introduction into the art world began, both through his grandmother who was at a local monastery where he witnessed iconography and he began to copy and draw what was around him and later on watching his uncle, a reputable clay pot artist, inspiring his introduction to combining ceramics and sculpting with his painting. Thodoros completed the University of Fine Arts Athens, where he completed courses in painting, sculpting, and iconography. Afterwards, Thodoros began traveling, he moved to Norway for one year where he held 3 exhibitions with the theme, Darkness and Norway's wild nature and later onto Holland where he used is interior design skills together with painting talents in restaurants. After Norway he continued to travel around England, Sweden, Holland, and Greece working with restaurants, churches, art exhibitions, portraits, sculpting and with his beloved sea materials. The sea has always played an important part in Theodoros' life and he enjoys working with the unusual shapes and textures that the sea brings to the land, especially wood. Part of the magnificence of working with wood is how the weather and the sea has affected it through time and provides it with a trace of its history, he feels the same way about primitive art, which he feels gives the sense of going back to the beginning and survival, as he sees people coming from nature , it is where we come from and ultimately where we end. He is also an ardent deep sea free diver, loving the peace and colors of the sea and is a highly skilled maker of spearguns. Thodoros is happy to share his Art studio and his passion for free diving with other artists and assist in sourcing any materials they may need from nearby Athens or elsewhere.
